He was flexible and accommodating, for example, he met me outside of his office to complete my paperwork with me in the car! Due to Covid-19 I was uncomfortable going into the office. We purchased Frederick W. Daily's _Stand up to the IRS_ book, published by NOLO. We love the NOLO books. The Stand Up to the IRS book is now our favorite: it was a phenomenal return on investment, although we certainly hope not to have to use it again. In short: we were audited. We keep meticulous records and knew that we were following the requirements for filing (thanks, other NOLO book!) We went through the appeals process and were denied. Because we'd bought the book, we weren't afraid of having to go to tax court and were confident in the process. I'll skip all the details I don't want random internet strangers finding for the rest of my life, but the short version is: we didn't have to go to tax court and had a great outcome. We know that this wouldn't have been the case without Fred Daily and his book. After this was all over, I contacted the law offices of Daily & Toups to thank Fred for having put such clear, usable information out there, accessible to anyone through a very reasonably-priced book. I hope we never need a tax lawyer, but if we do, we're obviously going to contact this firm.
